PRODIGAL
PRODIGAL

PRODIGAL (a song)
We have ran
we have tarried long with wine
we have left our fathers goodness
for whores and vine;
at last left to the victuals
of wallowing
swine
-Only to come back
to our father
(not blind)
knowing we don't deserve
the God given blood
line.
Just like the Prodigal
we left, only astray
from all that we needed
what we wanted
in vain.
Yes our father ran to us
(regardless of our run)
embraced us with a kiss
fatted calf, but one
-Our brother
(in scorn)
declares he had stayed
and yet no festive
preparations
for him
had been
made
Is the reward only
for the prodigal?
The good ones left to their envy?
Yet so the righteous
seem the more
the many;
and could they be the reason
(by far) that any
won't come back (,but leave)
their rightful chair
empty?
Just like the prodigal
(we left) only astray
from all that we needed,
what we wanted,
in vain.
,But let us forget not
the pain
of the righteous brothers
envy.
To him
the love of the father
was unjustly
insane;
and like this
too often
we
feel
the very same
way.
(Luke 15)
