THE MOTHER NEEDS TO SEE
(The fruit of her labor)
The dead baby
in her arms.
She needs to know
that her pain was not
in vain.
Nine months
or a lifetime
-battle in a seemingly cancerous
frame…
A little woman
dead.
life gone
again.
What can we say?
What is there to gain
through love and this life
In death
in our pain?
Maybe
all we want
is a hand to hold,
someone
to care.
Someone to share with, but who really dares?
If we are Christ like
we can’t know the answers by looking
within.
Refrain.
We are not gods
though we wish His same;
His power and wise,
to speak with His name.
To heal the sick
to reprove and be “fair”.
Do you really think we have the right to absolve God
from all the trials we share?
To carry your child
before you’re baby is dead
Is like living through suffering
without purpose
in the end.
Thank God He is good.
For He fulfills what He says.
What is good
He defines
not what we’ve stashed
in
our
heads.
