PEARL OF GREAT PRICE
PEARL OF GREAT PRICE
PEARL OF GREAT PRICE
Sea of Hidden Treasure
Seek and you will find
beneath
or behind.
The Kingdom of God
Is a hidden treasure
and the things we treasure
we value
more than its
find.
We don't give time
we don't give money
we don't see
what is buried;
the reward
that lies
beneath.
Paul The Apostles own resume'
he counted as scubalon (s**t)
in comparison
to the righteousness of Jesus.
-he was given
those eyes
to see.
Through faith alone
in Christ alone he knew
the value
of what
I’m speaking of…
“The Pearl Of Great Price”
What do you love?
Imagine that you had gone to a river
or to the sea to gather stones;
to polish
in the dark
on the way you feel
your feet step
against
what appears to be
sharp, pointed, glassy roam
-you treck the arc
on you go.
By sunrise
(after fetch)
you realize
that rocky road
you traveled down
was a sea of diamonds
in the darkness
not
shown.
What would you do?
Drop
your rocks.
Pick up those
stones!
Respond
with eyes
that see.
Hear with ears
that listen.
“If anyone
comes into the kingdom;
puts their hands to the plow
,but insists on looking back,
they are not fit
for The Kingdom of God.”
“Foxes have holes
birds have a place to nest”
,but The King had no place to lay
His head.
If you follow The King into His Kingdom
“Go all in
or don't come
at all”.
Coming to Christ will cost you.
“If anyone does not hate their whole family and they're own life”
,but embraces it instead
“…they are not fit for the kingdom.”
“The pride of life, the lust of the eyes”
have gone
to
their
heads.
But isn’t that the treasure?
This life?
No.
It is good, but the prize?
That is only what we
have been told.
We were never taught
what real treasure is.
For idols (false gods)
we pine;
for the heat of the moment,
the ash tray
left
be-hinds…
Camels through eyes of a needles
go all in
,but not begrudgingly.
To be empowered by the wind
Is like tossing crumbs to the wind
instead.
Is the Kingdom of God
worth giving all He gave you for it?
To the one who is called
the ear
can’t ignore it.
A car that drives itself,
rocket trips around the world,
these are only things
-just a part of what is in store for us.
To the
head,
to the heart,
from the hands and feet
-to the world
The Gospel
is Art.
Do we despise
theology
that never
touches the ground?
Can we praise the blood sweat and tears
that falls from our brow?
What do we sacrifice
for The Kingdom?
Nothing?
To others to whom we say, “yes”
do we love them?
What is your treasure?!
Does it come from beneath or above?
Does it lie on the surface
or from the deepest depths of Jesus’?
Yes.
The Pearl Of Great Price
Is a selected prize. A thing to
love; a type of treasure that “is like leaven that permeates the whole lump of dough.”
